Passengers travelling on Ryanair flight FR3211 from Santorini to Bergamo faced a major disruption after the flight departed several hours later than scheduled.
The flight was originally due to leave at 22:50, but departure was postponed until 02:45, resulting in passengers reaching their final destination 3 hours and 34 minutes late.
Under European Regulation EC 261/2004, passengers who arrive at their final destination more than three hours late may be entitled to financial compensation, provided that the applicable requirements are met and the delay was not caused by extraordinary circumstances.
The amount of compensation depends on the distance of the flight:
The Santorini-Bergamo route falls within the second distance category. Eligible passengers may therefore be entitled to €400 in compensation per person.
Passengers affected by the delay can check their eligibility and start a claim with DelayFlight24, which assists travellers in handling compensation claims against airlines and requesting Ryanair compensation.
