Delayed flight FR8428 of 28/08/2026
Passengers travelling on Ryanair flight FR8428Â from Venice to London faced a significant disruption, with the flight arriving at its final destination 12Â hours and 50 minutes late.
The flight was originally scheduled to depart at 09:45, but it eventually took off at 10:35, after several hours of delay. The reasons for the disruption are currently unknown, but the lengthy wait caused considerable inconvenience for the passengers.
Under European Regulation EC 261/2004, passengers who arrive at their final destination more than three hours late may be entitled to financial compensation, provided that the applicable requirements are met and the delay was not caused by extraordinary circumstances.
The amount of compensation depends on the distance of the flight:
- 250€ for flights less than 1500km,
- 400€ for flights from 1.500 km to 3.500 km,
- 600€ for flights more than 3500 km.
Since the Venice-London route is less than 1,500 km, eligible passengers may be entitled to €250 in compensation per person.

Frequently asked questions
Does bad weather or a strike rule out compensation?
Severe weather and strikes outside the airline, such as air traffic control strikes, are extraordinary circumstances. Strikes by the airline's own staff and technical faults normally are not.
How long do I have to claim?
You can claim months or even years after the flight: the time limit depends on the country. It is better not to wait, as documents get harder to find.
How much does the service cost?
Checking your flight is free and you pay nothing if no compensation is paid. If we win, we keep 25% + VAT.
Can I also get my ticket refunded?
If the flight is cancelled, or the delay is over 5 hours and you decide not to travel, you can also ask for a ticket refund on top of compensation.
Are children entitled to compensation?
Yes, every passenger with a ticket is, children included. Only infants travelling for free are excluded.
