Passengers travelling on Ryanair flight FR8428 from Venice to London faced a significant disruption, with the flight arriving at its final destination 12 hours and 50 minutes late.
The flight was originally scheduled to depart at 09:45, but it eventually took off at 10:35, after several hours of delay. The reasons for the disruption are currently unknown, but the lengthy wait caused considerable inconvenience for the passengers.
Under European Regulation EC 261/2004, passengers who arrive at their final destination more than three hours late may be entitled to financial compensation, provided that the applicable requirements are met and the delay was not caused by extraordinary circumstances.
The amount of compensation depends on the distance of the flight:
Since the Venice-London route is less than 1,500 km, eligible passengers may be entitled to €250 in compensation per person.
Passengers affected by the disruption can check their eligibility with DelayFlight24, which provides assistance with Ryanair delayed flight compensation.
