Passengers travelling on Ryanair flight FR2165 faced significant disruption after the flight scheduled to depart from Kos Airport for Rome Fiumicino on 14 september 2026 was unexpectedly cancelled.
The last-minute cancellation forced numerous passengers to change their travel plans and arrange an alternative itinerary to reach their final destination.
The reasons behind the cancellation are not known. In cases like this, European Regulation EC 261/2004 provides specific protections for air passengers. When the applicable requirements are met and the cancellation was not caused by extraordinary circumstances, passengers may be entitled to financial compensation depending on the distance of the flight:
For the Kos-Rome Fiumicino route, which covers less than 1,500 km, the applicable compensation may therefore amount to €250 per passenger, provided that all the conditions established by the European regulation are satisfied.
The right to compensation is separate from the right to a ticket refund or an alternative flight. Depending on the circumstances, passengers affected by a cancellation may also be entitled to additional assistance from the airline.
To check their eligibility and submit a Ryanair cancelled flight compensation, passengers can complete the form available on the DelayFlight24 website.
