Vueling flight change: how to do it, Flex Pack and 24 hours

With Vueling you can change the date and time of your flight on the website or app up to 2 hours before departure, paying a change fee plus any fare difference; you cannot change the origin, destination or fare. There is no change fee with Fly Grande, TimeFlex, Fly Pro (one change) or Flex Pack, nor within 24 hours of purchase if you booked the wrong date. Here are all the options and how to do it.

Vueling flight change rules

A change always applies to everyone on the booking: you cannot move the flight for just one person. The system shows you the fee before you pay.

How to change a Vueling flight, step by step

1. Open "My trips" on the Vueling website or app with your booking code (for example VYABCD) and email.
2. Choose to change the flight and pick the new date or time.
3. Check the summary: the change fee, if due, and the fare difference.
4. Pay and receive the confirmation by email.
5. Check your extras: bags, priority boarding and pets stay the same, and you get a seat similar to the one you chose (or a higher category).

If one of the flights is operated by another airline, you must ask Vueling's Customer Services Centre to make the change. Flights paid for with Avios are changed in the same section of the website, which is handy if you collect points with British Airways or Aer Lingus.

Flex Pack, Fly Pro and Fly Grande: which is worth it

• Flex Pack: added at booking to Fly and Fly Light fares. It gives you one change without a fee up to 2 hours before, and lets you cancel up to 2 hours before in exchange for Flight Credit valid for 18 months.
• Fly Pro: includes one change without a fee and the option to bring your flight forward on the same day.
• Fly Grande: unlimited changes up to 2 hours before and free cancellation for Flight Credit.

If you already know your plans might move, buying one of these options at booking usually costs less than paying a change fee later.

Bringing your flight forward on the same day

With "Bring your flight forward" you can switch to an earlier flight on the same day, via the app or at Vueling sales desks at the airport, if seats are available. It is included with TimeFlex, Fly Pro and for Vueling Club Plus and Premium customers; otherwise there is a fee per passenger. It is available until the new flight's check-in desk closes, but not for bookings made on the day of travel or for connections with other airlines.

If Vueling changes or cancels your flight

If the airline changes the schedule, delays or cancels the flight, you pay no fee: "My trips" shows you the available alternatives. If the flight arrives 3 hours or more late, or is cancelled less than 14 days before departure, you may also be entitled to €250, €400 or €600 per passenger under EU rules, unless there were extraordinary circumstances.
