Passengers travelling on Ryanair flight FR1498 experienced a delay of more than three hours at Athens International Airport, exceeding the threshold that may qualify them for compensation under European Regulation EC 261/2004.
According to the checks carried out by DelayFlight24, the conditions for claiming €250 per passenger may be met, subject to confirmation that all legal requirements are satisfied and that the delay was not caused by extraordinary circumstances.
Under European Regulation EC 261/2004, compensation for flight delays is determined by the distance of the journey:
Compensation is not based on the price paid for the ticket. Eligibility depends on factors including the length of the delay, the flight distance and the circumstances that caused the disruption.
Passengers can check their eligibility and start a claim with DelayFlight24 by submitting a Ryanair compensation. The service provides free assistance throughout the process.
