  • Cancellation: you are owed compensation if you were told less than 14 days before departure, on top of a ticket refund or an alternative flight.

Twin Jet compensation: €250 for delays and cancellations on regional flights

Twin Jet is a French regional airline headquartered in Aix-en-Provence and founded in 2001. It flies small Beechcraft 1900D turboprops with around twenty seats, linking French cities the big carriers largely ignore (Marseille, Toulouse, Lyon, Strasbourg, Le Puy-en-Velay, Mende, Paris Orly) plus a few foreign points such as Milan Malpensa. For summer 2026 it added seasonal Nice–Olbia and Nice–Menorca flights.

As a French company, Twin Jet is an EU carrier, so Regulation (EC) 261/2004 applies to its entire network: domestic French routes and flights to Italy and Spain alike.

Late landing

The Beechcraft reached your destination three or more hours behind time.

3 hours plus

Flight axed

You were told fewer than 14 days before departure.

Short notice

Seat refused

Left behind against your will with a valid ticket and on time for boarding.

Paid at once

No payout

French air traffic control strikes, or snow and fog that genuinely shut the airport.

How much Twin Jet pays

Every Twin Jet route is under 1,500 km, so the amount never changes: €250 per passenger.

Band Twin Jet routes Compensation
Up to 1,500 km Marseille–Milan, Nice–Olbia, Nice–Menorca, Toulouse–Nantes, Le Puy–Paris €250
1,500 to 3,500 km No routes in this band €400
Over 3,500 km No routes in this band €600

Your fare may have cost less than the compensation; that makes no difference. Two of you on a Marseille–Milan flight landing three and a half hours late are owed €500, and a child with their own seat counts like an adult.

Twin Jet flight delayed: what to keep

With regional turboprops, a single fault can knock a whole day of rotations out of shape. Meanwhile:

  1. Save your Twin Jet confirmation with the T7 code, and your boarding pass.
  2. Write down what staff say at the gate: fault, crew, weather.
  3. Check the time when the door opens at your destination.
  4. Hang on to receipts if you bought food or took a taxi.
  5. Turn down vouchers in place of cash until you have checked your rights.

Twin Jet flight cancelled

With only a small fleet, one cancellation can leave you with no other option the same day.

Refund or rerouting

You can insist on one or the other in every case.

€250 extra

If the cancellation reached you fewer than 14 days out.

Notice €250 due?
14 days or more No
7-13 days Yes, unless the replacement leaves no more than 2 hours early and lands within 4 hours of the original time
Under 7 days Yes, unless the replacement leaves no more than 1 hour early and lands within 2 hours of the original time

Seasonal routes. Summer links like Nice–Olbia run for just a few weeks; a big schedule change shortly before departure can count as a cancellation. See Twin Jet cancellation compensation.

Overbooking and denied boarding at Twin Jet

With so few seats, being left at the gate hurts. If your ticket and documents were in order, compensation is due immediately, along with another flight. Read more on Twin Jet overbooking.

French strikes and Twin Jet flights

French air traffic controllers strike fairly often, and because that is outside the airline's control it does not trigger compensation. If Twin Jet's own pilots walk out, though, the EU Court of Justice treats it as a business risk and compensation is normally owed (case C-28/20).

Twin Jet rejected your claim? The usual explanations

Usually payable
"Technical problem with the Beechcraft"

Maintenance is part of the carrier's everyday operations.

EU Court of Justice, case C-549/07
It depends
"Industrial action"

Owed if Twin Jet staff struck, not air traffic control.

EU Court of Justice, case C-28/20
Usually payable
"Crew unavailable"

Rostering staff is the airline's job.

Often not payable
"Fog or snow"

Valid if the airport really was unusable at that hour; we check the weather records.

Twin Jet, Flying Blue and the regional network

Twin Jet is a Flying Blue partner, so you can earn miles on its flights. In 2017 it took over fellow French carrier Hex'Air and absorbed its routes and aircraft. Whatever the loyalty link, Twin Jet remains responsible for claims on the flights it operates under its own T7 code.

Twin Jet compensation: frequently asked questions

How much does Twin Jet pay for a delay of more than 3 hours?
€250 per passenger. Every Twin Jet route, including Marseille–Milan and Nice–Olbia, is under 1,500 km, so that is always the figure, unless the airline proves extraordinary circumstances.
Is Twin Jet an EU airline?
Yes. Twin Jet is based in Aix-en-Provence, France, so EU261 covers all its flights, both within France and to Italy and Spain.
My Twin Jet flight was cancelled because of a French air traffic control strike. Am I owed anything?
Not the €250, because an air traffic control strike is outside the airline's control. You still have the right to a refund or another flight, and to meals and drinks while you wait.
What if Twin Jet's own staff were on strike?
Then compensation is normally due: the EU Court of Justice regards a strike by an airline's own employees as part of its normal business risk (case C-28/20).
Twin Jet offered me a voucher instead of money. Should I accept?
No. Compensation must be paid in money; a voucher only replaces it if you agree in writing. Check what you are entitled to first.
My Twin Jet flight was the first leg of a longer journey. Does that change anything?
If it was all on a single booking and you reached your final destination three or more hours late, the delay at the end of the journey is what counts. With separate tickets, each flight is assessed on its own.
How long do I have to claim from Twin Jet?
EU261 does not set a deadline; national law where the claim is brought applies, as the EU Court of Justice confirmed in case C-139/11. Enter your flight date and we will check.
How much does DelayFlight24 charge for a Twin Jet claim?
Nothing upfront. If Twin Jet pays, we keep 25% + VAT and you receive €173.75 of €250. If we need to go to court, legal costs stay with us even if we lose.
