Enter Air compensation: when your holiday flight is worth €400
Enter Air rarely sells seats itself: its Boeing 737s fly on behalf of tour operators, so many passengers only learn the airline's name at the airport. We have handled more than 150 Enter Air claims for over 300 passengers, often families and groups, and the routes that come up most include Manchester and Leeds to Enontekiö in Finnish Lapland, Lanzarote–Paris and Porto to Cape Verde. If you arrived three or more hours late, your flight was cancelled at short notice or you were refused boarding, these routes are worth €400 per passenger.
Enter Air is a Polish airline based in Warsaw, which makes it a European carrier. Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 covers its flights departing the EU and also its flights into the EU from outside, including from the UK. Departures from Britain are covered by the UK version of the rules as well.
Delayed flight
The charter reached your destination at least three hours after the time on your holiday documents.
3+ hours on arrivalCancelled flight
Enter Air or your tour operator told you less than 14 days before departure.
Late noticeOverbooking
You were on the passenger list and at the gate on time but did not get a seat.
Due immediatelyWhen it is not owed
When the cause is genuinely external: weather closing the airport, an air traffic control strike, an order from the authorities.

How much Enter Air pays on holiday routes
Package or flight only, the amount depends on distance alone. Routes under 1,500 km pay €250.
| Enter Air route | Distance | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Manchester–Enontekiö, Leeds–Enontekiö | 1,500 to 3,500 km | €400 |
| Lanzarote–Paris | 1,500 to 3,500 km | €400 |
| Porto–Sal (Cape Verde), Sal–Porto | 1,500 to 3,500 km | €400 |
| Porto–Djerba | 1,500 to 3,500 km | €400 |
Each passenger is entitled, children with a seat included: a family of four on a Leeds–Enontekiö flight that landed five hours late can claim four times over. Groups are common in our Enter Air cases, so add the flight once in our form and list everyone who travelled.
Delayed Enter Air flight: what to do
More than 8 in 10 of our Enter Air claims are about delays. Charter aircraft often fly several rotations a day, so a hold-up in the morning can roll on to the last flight in the evening. What counts is when the doors open on arrival.
- Keep the tour operator's documents and your boarding pass: they show the promised time and the E4 flight number.
- Ask the tour operator's rep at the airport why you are delayed and write it down.
- Save texts and emails from the travel agent or tour operator about time changes.
- Note the actual arrival time and photograph the arrivals board.
- Do not sign anything giving up your rights in exchange for a discount on your next holiday.
Care during the wait
The duty of care belongs to Enter Air, even if the tour operator's staff look after you at the airport: meal vouchers, drinks and, if departure slips to the next day, a hotel and transfers.
| Distance | Care after |
|---|---|
| Up to 1,500 km | 2 hours |
| 1,500 to 3,500 km, such as Manchester–Enontekiö | 3 hours |
| Over 3,500 km | 4 hours |
| Over 5 hours | You may give up the flight and be refunded |
Connections
Enter Air charters are almost always direct. If your package included a connecting flight on the same booking, what matters is arrival at the final destination. More on compensation for a delayed Enter Air flight.
Cancelled Enter Air flight: your rights
Cancellations account for around 6 in 100 of our Enter Air claims. On package trips the tour operator sometimes merges two flights or switches airports, which can also lead to compensation.
Always owed. On a package, the tour operator usually moves you to another flight.
On top, if you were told of the cancellation less than 14 days before.
| Notice | Compensation |
|---|---|
| 14 days or more | Not owed |
| 7 to 13 days | Owed, unless the alternative leaves no more than 2 hours earlier and arrives within 4 hours |
| Under 7 days | Owed, unless the alternative leaves no more than 1 hour earlier and arrives within 2 hours |
Charter times changed. Holiday flights are often moved by several hours shortly before departure; the Court of Justice of the EU has held that such a change can amount to a cancellation. See our guide to compensation for a cancelled Enter Air flight.
Enter Air overbooking
Denied boarding also makes up about 6 in 100 of our Enter Air claims. On charters it can happen, for example, when the planned aircraft is swapped for one with fewer seats. If you did not volunteer to stay behind, compensation is due straight away. Details on Enter Air overbooking and denied boarding.
Strikes and Enter Air flights
A French air traffic control strike can hold up a Lanzarote–Paris flight, but it is an external cause and compensation is not due. If Enter Air's own pilots or cabin crew walk out, compensation is normally owed, as the Court of Justice of the EU has ruled (case C-28/20).
Enter Air rejected your claim? Common objections
A problem with the 737 found before departure is part of the airline's business risk.
Court of Justice of the EU, case C-549/07A tight charter schedule is the airline's choice: an exceptional event at the root is needed to rule out compensation.
Enter Air staff: usually owed. Air traffic controllers: not owed.
Court of Justice of the EU, case C-28/20Winter weather in Lapland can be an external cause if it really grounded that flight. We check the weather records for the day.
Package holiday: claim from Enter Air, not the tour operator
Compensation under the Regulation is owed by the airline that operated the flight, Enter Air, even if you paid the tour operator for everything. The tour operator is responsible for the package services, such as a lost hotel night or transfer: these are two separate claims.
Flights from the UK, Cape Verde and Tunisia: covered
As a European carrier, Enter Air owes compensation on flights into the EU from countries outside it:
- Manchester–Enontekiö and Leeds–Enontekiö, into Finland
- Sal–Porto and other return flights from Cape Verde
- Djerba–Porto and flights from Tunisia
Flights leaving the UK are also covered by the UK rules, with amounts in pounds: we choose the better route for you.
How to claim from Enter Air: on your own or with us
You can write to Enter Air directly using the complaints form on enterair.pl, giving the flight number, date and passenger names.
Free, but you are dealing with a Polish airline, usually in English. If refused, you can go to the national enforcement body of the country where the flight departed, which for UK departures is the CAA, or to the courts.
Give us the details once, for the whole group. We deal with Enter Air and, if needed, go to court with our own lawyers. You pay only if you are compensated: 25% + VAT. Legal costs are ours, even if the case is lost.
Already turned down?
Send us Enter Air's letter: if the extraordinary circumstance is not proven, we restart with a formal demand.

Baggage falls under the Montreal Convention: fill in a PIR on arrival, tell the tour operator's rep, and complain in writing within 7 days for damage or within 21 days of delivery for a delay.
